About the event
A recent survey found most parents want to talk about global warming’s impact on their kids’ health, but it rarely happens at their child's medical check-up. Join us on Aug. 21 at 6 p.m. ET for an essential discussion on the effect climate change is having on the health of our children and how clinicians and families can work together to address it. “Why clinicians and families should talk about climate change,” presented with MiCCA, features insights from healthcare professionals and the valuable perspective of a concerned parent to understand the symptoms of climate-related health problems and how to communicate about them at doctor’s visits. Panelists:
- Dr. Aisha Harris, family physician at Harris Family Health in Flint, Health Equity Fellow at Medical Society Consortium on Climate and Health
- Dr. Andrew Lewandowski, climate medicine physician, general pediatrician at Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin
- Ambirr Momon, parent, community reporter at Planet Detroit
This event will be moderated by Planet Detroit’s new Executive Director Laprisha Berry Daniels. Sign up to learn what steps you can take as an individual and in your community.
